PL Kick-Off : Manchester United v Leicester – Preview and Prediction

Manchester United

The Premier League 2018-19 season will Kick-Off on Friday night, when Manchester United take on Leicester City at Old Trafford.

Most of the United fans are very unhappy with the club’s management, after they could bring in only one high-profile signing in the summer transfer window, Fred a £55 million Brazilian midfielder.

Several transfer targets like Mateo Kovacic, Harry Maguire and Toby Alderweireld were identified by United but failed to materialise for different reasons.

Manchester United are unbeaten in their last seven Premier League games against Leicester City, winning four and drawing three, and have lost just one of the last 18. Jose Mourinho will hope to continue United’s impressive run against Leicester on Friday.

MANCHESTER UNITED –

Mourinho welcomed back Paul Pogba, Jesse Lingard and Romelu Lukaku this week in training, but they will not play any role for United in the Premier League opener.

Sergio Romero, Antonio Valencia, Marcos Rojo and Diogo Dalot are out through injury for this match, as are Ander Herrera and Nemanja Matic. Summer signing Fred is expected to make his Manchester United debut.

JOSE MOURINHO –

I’m going to enjoy this season. At the moment words are not important. Let’s play football and see by the end of November or December. You’ll see which teams are candidates. After training I will speak with the group of players because everyone is different physically and mentally at this point.

PREDICTION –

Manchester United will be without some big name players, but Jose Mourinho is good at getting favourable results under pressure. Both teams will make it hard for the opposition to score, but United are playing at home and will do enough to take the three points.

Manchester United 1-0 Leicester
